Nutley Little Theatre was formed in 1934, and has been operating and performing continuously ever since, making us one of New Jersey’s oldest community theater groups. A not-for-profit organization staffed entirely by volunteers, NLT is committed to providing excellence in drama and stagecraft and to serving as a cultural center in the Northern New Jersey area.

We produce five main stage productions a season.  In addition to our shows, we also offer a Reader’s Theatre Series where classic and new plays are read aloud in front of an audience, giving actors a chance to work on scripts that might otherwise not ever be performed on the NLT stage.  We also have monthly General Meetings that are open to members and non-members where workshops are presented.  These workshops consist of one act plays, scenes, monologues, or guest speakers leading volunteers in the art of auditioning, acting, or presenting musical theatre. See our Get Involved section to find out more!
